Founded in 1998, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is a public charter school located in Malden, Massachusetts. The school serves more than 1,700 students in grades K–12 across four campuses: MVRCS draws students from the surrounding communities of Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield.
The school follows an extended day (8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) and extended year (200 instructional days) model. Students adhere to a formal dress code and benefit from a structured, academically rigorous environment that emphasizes traditional pedagogy, high expectations, and fidelity to carefully selected curricula.

Implement the documented History curriculum, including IB content where applicable.
Deliver five subject-area classes daily using Core Knowledge and IB instructional methodologies.
Develop and teach lessons with clear, standards-aligned learning objectives.
Regularly assess student progress and provide timely feedback, progress reports, and report cards.
Administer standardized testing as directed by the department chair and leadership team.
Participate in collaborative planning, data analysis, and instructional discussions with the History department and Department Chair.
Uphold the school’s assertive discipline model and classroom management expectations.
Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, grade-level team meetings, and professional development.
Support school-wide functions and events.
Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the History Department Chair and/or School Leadership.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in History or related field required.
Demonstrated content expertise and enthusiasm for History instruction.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make informed instructional decisions.
Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and professionally with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
Familiarity with curriculum standards, educational law, and school policies.
Experience evaluating student performance and writing progress reports.
Strong commitment to personal and professional growth.
Ability to plan and implement differentiated lessons based on student needs.
Successful completion of relevant Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure within one year of employment.
