Kansas City, MO (100% On-Site)We are seeking a Scrum Master with strong leadership and communication skills to support and guide Agile teams through continuous delivery and process improvement. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on empowering teams, facilitating collaboration, and removing obstacles to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time onsite position in Kansas City, MO , with the potential for long-term hire.
ResponsibilitiesFacilitate all Scrum ceremonies: daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives , and pre-planning sessions.
Support Product Owners in backlog refinement, prioritization , and planning.
Identify and remove impediments to ensure timely delivery of sprint goals.
Promote a collaborative, self-organized, high-performing Agile team culture.
Foster continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation and learning.
Coach teams on Agile values, principles, and best practices.
Participate in Scrum-of-Scrums to coordinate cross-team dependencies.
Adapt Agile processes based on empirical learning to improve delivery flow.
Maintain proper sizing and standardization of user stories , ensuring team workload is well balanced.
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support team maturity and agility.
Manage administrative responsibilities such as reporting, scope alignment, financial tracking, and delivery status (approx. 10–20% of time).
5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment .
Proven ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and support product backlog management.
Skilled in identifying and removing team blockers and external distractions.
Strong communication, leadership, and team coaching skills .
Proficiency with Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, XP .
Experience using tools like Jira, MS Azure DevOps , or similar.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile engineering practices.
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Agile certifications such as CSM, PSM, or SAFe Agilist .
Familiarity with DevOps, TDD, CI/CD , and writing/refining user stories.
Understanding of business domains like Marketing or Sales is a plus.
