Role: Snowflake DBT Platform Engineer

Work Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled DBT Platform Engineer with extensive experience in IT (6+ years) and specialized expertise in DBT (4+ years). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the DBT environment, streamlining data transformation workflows, and driving efficient deployment processes to support strategic data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• DBT Environment Management: Install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level DBT Cloud and Core environments, ensuring top-notch performance and reliability.
• Data Transformation: Design, test, and deploy DBT models to turn raw data into actionable insights.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune DBT processes to enhance performance and reduce execution times.
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Configure and oversee CI/CD pipelines for seamless code deployment, focusing on DBT models and scripts.
• Version Control: Implement Git best practices, including branching strategies, version control processes, and effective merge request handling.
• Upgrades and Rollouts: Manage platform upgrades and the rollout of new features, ensuring smooth integration with minimal disruption.
• Collaboration: Partner with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of DBT models, configurations, and operational processes.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues within DBT workflows and data transformations.
• Security Management: Implement robust security protocols to safeguard data integrity and privacy.
• Training: Provide team training and guidance on DBT usage and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years in IT, with at least 4 years of hands-on experience in DBT administration.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of SQL, DBT Cloud, DBT Core, Jinja templating, CI/CD tools, and Git.
• Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret and work with complex data sets.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across teams.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to managing data and maintaining processes.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in DBT, SQL, or cloud platforms are highly preferred.
