Hoskbrew is a dynamic and growing game company dedicated to creating immersive and engaging tabletop experiences. We are currently developing a visually rich and captivating RPG and are seeking a talented Project Manager to contribute their expertise in bringing our unique characters, monsters, and scenery to tangible reality. You will play a crucial role in defining the visual aesthetic of our game and enhancing the player experience.

Job Summary:

Hoskbrew is seeking a highly organized and motivated Project Manager to oversee the development and production of our exciting new tabletop role-playing game. The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of the tabletop gaming industry, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, tasks, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Create and maintain project schedules using appropriate tools (e.g., Gantt charts, Kanban boards).
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of writers, artists, designers, editors, and playtesters.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Resolve conflicts and address team issues promptly.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the project budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors and freelancers.
  • Monitor and control project spending.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address issues that may impact the project timeline or budget.

Production and Delivery:

  • Oversee the production process, including layout, printing, and distribution.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Ensure quality control throughout the production process.
  • Manage the delivery and launch of the final product.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Provide regular project status reports to stakeholders, including management and investors.
  • Communicate effectively with external partners, such as artists, freelancers, and distributors.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on project progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Project Management, Business Administration, Game Development) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the game industry or a related creative field.
  • Strong understanding of the tabletop role-playing game industry, including its various genres, formats, and production processes.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello, Jira).
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • A passion for tabletop role-playing games.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with crowdfunding platforms (e.g., Kickstarter, Indiegogo).
  • Knowledge of game design principles and mechanics.
  • Experience with editing and layout software.
